The World Health Organization (WHO) and the international Automobile Association (FIA) have set themselves the target to halve the number of road deaths worldwide by 2020. Recaro Child Safety contributes to the program called "Decade of Action", with an information campaign on child road safety in China. This commitment of the German child seat manufacturer has now been honored for the second consecutive year in a row. During the “China Road Safety Leadership Summit 2015”, hosted by the China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC), the Secretary General of Global NCAP, Mr. David Ward as well as the Chinese government Secretary of Road Traffic Safety, Mr. Jing Wang handed over the award.

In a one hour podium discussion, Emanuel Baur, Key Account Manager Asia at Recaro Child Safety, spoke about the company’s activities and experiences in the fairly young Chinese child safety seat market. He says: “We are very proud to be part of the ‘Decade of Action’ in one of our most important growth markets. By actively supporting different projects we want to underline our social commitment. We are proud to work closely with the Chinese government, to improve child safety in the country.”

Recaro has participated in an information campaign in cooperation with the Chinese governmental test institute CATARC for more educational work. The initiative aims to raise awareness for the importance of child safety seats. During public events in 22 Chinese cities, over two million Chinese parents could be reached. Apart from a basic introduction and education of what a child safety seat is about, parents had the chance to test and learn more about the handling of the seats right on site.

In addition, Recaro received an award for its active participation in the “Road Safety Trip to Tibet”. Part of this initiative was a charity campaign aimed to support students in the remote Tibetan area. The students have been provided with fluorescent school-bags to ensure them a safer way to school.
