FAQ

My car's 3-point belt is too short

Especially in older cars it can happen that the three-point belt for securing the child seat and infant carrier is too short. Therefore we recommend visiting an authorized RECARO retailer for a fitting in your car before buying. The reason for shorter belts is that a standardized minimum belt length for new cars has only been mandatory since 2001. If this problem occurs in your car, please contact your manufacturer.

Can I use a seat belt extension?

We cannot recommend belt extensions for safety reasons. These change the belt geometry significantly, sufficient stability and safety for your child is no longer guaranteed. For example, the impact shield could be released during an accident (side impact, rollover) and would not protect your child. Even manufacturers shall refrain from the use of such belt extensions in combination with child safety seats.
