Flying with kids - What about child seats on an airplane?
A child car seat must only be used in the aircraft when it has been tested and approved by the respective institutes such as the TÜV Rheinland in Germany. The label with the note "For Use in Aircraft" and an identification number is placed on the child seat. It proves that the seat will match the intended passenger seat and can be securely fastened with the airplane's lap belt. Before your trip you should contact your airline to confirm that they allow child seats on their planes.
The RECARO Privia does have an authorisation for the use in an aircraft.
